The 1922 Nordic Games were the first to feature ice hockey as part of its program. Three teams, all from Sweden, took part in the tournament, with IK Göta claiming the championship. It was held in Stockholm from February 4-8, 1922.

A bandy tournament was also held at the games. Three national teams participated - Finland, Norway, and Sweden. It was the first time the Norwegians played with an 11-man team - bandy was still played between teams of seven players in Norway. The Norwegians did not count their match against Sweden as an official match.
