This was the 1952-53 German Landesliga season:
Berlin Championship
Six teams participated in the Berlin Championship: Berliner Schlittschuhclub, BGC Schwarz-Weiß, Grunewalder TC, LTTC Rot-Weiß Berlin, SC Brandenburg Berlin and Steglitzer TK.
Only a few championship games had been played by February 11, when the competition was supposed to conclude. On that date, LTTC was declared champions of Berlin and it was arranged that they would advance to the final round. LTTC later tied Berliner SC 3:3, so it was decided that another game needed to be played to officially decide the Berlin Championship.
