The Demons Ice Hockey Club was founded in 1946 as "Eastern Suburbs", before becoming the Eastern Demons Ice Hockey Club in 1947, and then assuming their current name a year later. The club is the longest-standing member of the Victorian Ice Hockey Association and has enjoyed tremendous success over the years.

The Demons have played in the Victorian Championship since their foundation. The club has one a total of 11 Premier-A Grade championships.

The organization also field teams in the lower-level Premier Reserve, C1, and C2 divisions of Victorian hockey.
