SC Empor Rostock was an ice hockey team in Rostock, East Germany. They were members of the sports club of the same name.

The hockey section of the club was formed in 1956 and began playing in the Bezirksliga. They won the East German 1. Liga in 1959-60, thus earning promotion to the DDR-Oberliga the following season.

Rostock played in the Oberliga from 1960 to 1970, finishing as high as fourth place on three occasions. When the Oberliga was reduced to two teams in 1970, they were among the casualties. VSG Rostock was then founded as a replacement, and initially joined the Bezirksliga before reaching the DDR-Bestenermittlung
