The 2005-06 Naisten SM-sarja season was contested by six teams and won by Ilves.

China faced each team twice, participating as a "guest" team in the competition as part of their training for the 2006 Olympics. The two best players from the national team then had the opportunity to play for the Espoo Blues until the end of the season.
