The 1964-65 East German Liga season was the 13th and final season of the second-level competition in East Germany. Three teams participated in the league, and BSG Chemie Leuna won the championship.
The Gruppenliga, which had previously operated as the third-tier league in East Germany, became the second-level competition for 1965-66.
