The 1990-91 English League season was the third season of the league as the third-tier division of the British Hockey League. Eight teams participated in the league, and the Oxford City Stars won the regular season championship.

The top two teams from the regular season played off against the bottom three teams from Division One and the top team from the Scottish League First Division. The winner of each of the two groups was promoted.
