The 1990-91 Women's Swedish Division 1 season was the seventh season of the league. A Division II series with seven teams was also played in Stockholm. Out in the country there were some local series which do not appear to have been connected to the national league system. The Dala-Örebroserien was in its second year and was played with six teams. The Skåne series was played in the southern region. Despite the name, three out of four teams came from southern Västergötland and northern Halland. Alvesta SK played with Småland's B-boys in Division III Småland. In the north, the Norrlands series was played with seven teams mainly from Ångermanland.
