The Lake Placid Roamers were an independent, intermediate senior level ice hockey team from Lake Placid, New York. The Roamers were a farm team of the New York Rangers,[1] and produced future National Hockey League goaltender Gilles Mayer.[2] The club was formed in 1946. They spent the 1947-48 and 1948-49 seasons in the Lake Placid-Montreal Intermediate Hockey League, capturing the title both years.

The Roamers played eight games in the Quebec Provincial Senior League in 1951-52, losing them all, before withdrawing due to player shortages. They later played in the Montreal Hockey League in 1953-54. The club defeated Spokane, Washington's Eagle Electric team in a two-game total goal series played at Lake Placid for the 1965–66 national senior ice hockey title, by scores of 13–7 and 8–3.[3] They also captured the Senior US title in 1947. The Roamers remained active until 1970.
