The 12th annual Queen City Tournament, hosted by Charlotte Amateur Hockey Association, was held st the Eastland Mall Ice Capades Chalet from February 28-March 3, 1985.
Hampton (VA) entered teams in a Mid-Atlantic Tournament in early April. The Squirts, Peewees, and Bantams were champions, while the Midget-Juveniles finished second.
1985-86
The 13th annual Queen City Tournament was cancelled due to inclement weather and illness. It was noted that the tournament was still going in 1991. The Charlotte travel teams, formerly known as the Blades, became the Jr. Checkers in 1993-94 with the arrival of the ECHL franchise of the same name.
