The 1940-41 Ukrainian SSR Championship was contested by eight teams: the representative teams of Lviv (made up of players from Petrel and Dynamo Lviv), Chernivtsi, Ternopil, Stanislav, Drohobych, Rivne and Lutsk, and Spartak Lviv (who won the Lviv Championship, over Petrel and Dynamo). The quarterfinal and semifinal games were played in Lviv from February 9-16, and the final was held in Kiev on February 23.
