1923 German Ice Hockey Championship
The 1923 German Ice Hockey Championship was the seventh season of the German Ice Hockey Championship, the national championship of Germany. Berliner Schlittschuhclub won the championship by defeating SC Charlottenburg in the final.
Amateur teams belonging to the Deutscher Eislauf-Verband were eligible to participate, but a restriction of two teams from a single place/district was enforced.
The German economic crisis due to hyper-inflation led to the artificial rinks in Berlin and Munich closing. The Berlin teams were forced to practice at the Gleisdreieck Market.
Only one game was played between Berliner SC and SC Charlottenburg in Garmisch-Partenkirchen on January 16. MTV München 1879 forfeited when the remaining two games of the championship were cancelled and they were unable to travel to Berlin to play them.
Bavarian Championship
Berchtesgaden was scheduled to host the Bavarian Championship on January 12, 1923. It appears it was not held due to warm weather.
