The 1989-90 Naisten SM-sarja season was contested by seven teams and won by Ilves Tampere.

EKS Espoo (1. Divisioona champions), TPS Turku, and KalPa Kuopio were promoted. Tiikerit was relegated. EVU Vantaa and Ilves-Kiekko voluntarily withdrew.
