For the first time, foreigners (residents of China with a work contract and social security in the country) were allowed to participate in a national championship, to increase competition. There was a maximum of three per team, with only one allowed on the ice at a time. There was a significant disparity among the teams, with Shenzhen notably beating Hunan 27:0, and Shijiazhuang blasting Anhui 32:0 in the preliminary round. | |||
