This league ran for one season (1925-26) in the provinces of Manitoba and Ontario and the state of Minnesota. It was a senior league.

The American teams were what remained from the United States Amateur Hockey Association. The eastern teams had dropped out because of National Hockey League expansion to Boston and Pittsburgh.

In 1926-27 this league became the professional American Hockey Association.

The defending Allan Cup champion Port Arthur as well as Fort William were also invited to join this league but declined. They instead played in the 1925-26 Thunder Bay Senior Playoffs.
