The Northwest Hockey League was a senior hockey league based in Northern United States. This league played from 1950-51 to 1955-56. The teams that played were Crookston Pirates (MN), Grand Forks Amerks (up to 1952)/Redwings (1952-55)/Jets (1955-56) (ND), Hallock (MN), Roseau Cloverleafs (MN), Thief River Falls Thieves (MN) and Warroad Lakers (MN). The Lakers won the league in 1955 and 1956.
During this span the Warroad Lakers won the United States Intermediate championship in 1955. The Lakers went 21-6-1 in 1955-56. In 1955 they won the Holland Memorial Trophy by defeating Roseau, 11-1, to win a five-game playoff series, 3-2.
