"The New Ontario Hockey League, which consists of clubs in Fort William and Port Arthur has decided that Vair of Barrie, who was one of the imported players in the Haileybury-New Liskeard game last winter, and was consequently disqualified by the Ontario Hockey Association, is a good enough amateur for the league at the head of Lake Superior. It was argued that as long as he had not been disqualified by the Canadian Amateur Athletic Union he would be eligible in that vicinity. This incident is important as showing the value of the proposed alliance between the OHA and the CAAU. When that is effected the CAAU will enforce all the decisions of the OHA within the jurisdiction of the Union, and thereby add to the strength and extent of its rulings."<ref>''Winnipeg Tribune'', 1906-12-22</ref> | "The New Ontario Hockey League, which consists of clubs in Fort William and Port Arthur has decided that Vair of Barrie, who was one of the imported players in the Haileybury-New Liskeard game last winter, and was consequently disqualified by the Ontario Hockey Association, is a good enough amateur for the league at the head of Lake Superior. - Overview
When that is effected the CAAU will enforce all the decisions of the OHA within the jurisdiction of the Union, and thereby add to the strength and extent of its rulings."[5]
