"The hockey team representing McLellan, McFeely and company vanquished that of the B.C. Sugar Refinery at Trout Lake [near Vancouver] on Saturday afternoon by a score of three goals to one."

Nelson and the Rossland Victorias planned to meet in Nelson after the Rossland Winter Carnival. Rossland couldn't make it, so the Nelson team faced the local Fire Brigade instead. The game against Rossland was rescheduled, but no records exist of it being played.

According to the book, Trail On Ice, the Sandon Juniors also defeated challenging junior teams from Kaslo and Moyie. The book also noted that regular matches were being played between Rossland and Trail in 1899, with a three car train known as the "Hockey Special" bringing players and fans back and forth between the towns.

A team was formed in Vernon, and accepted a challenge to face a team from Enderby, but this did not materialize. Kamloops and Nicola Lake once again challenged each other, but no games took place between the towns.
