Viru Sputnik is an Estonian ice hockey team playing in the Meistriliiga. The club is based in Kohtla-Järve and the home arena is Kohtla-Järve Ice Hall. Viru Sputnik has played in Meistriliiga since it was established in 2003.[1]

In the 2009–10 season they became the Estonian champions; in 2008–09 and 2010–11 they placed second.[2]

The team regularly participated in the Meistriliiga hockey league from its inception until the 2016-2017 season.[3]

The team returned to Meistriliiga competition for the 2021-2022 season.[4]
