On February 12 it was announced that Cambridge's season had been brought to a premature close as the players were unable to obtain further late leave, and as all matches were played in the evening, they were forced to retire from the league. They had three games remaining, one against Grosvenor House and two against Manchester, which were counted as forfeit losses, with the Canadians receiving two points and Manchester four.[33]
