The 1961 Spanish Championship was won by Club Alpino Nuria. The January 29, 1961, edition of El Mundo Deportivo noted that Nuria were "Spanish champions" during a report of an international match against the Swiss club, EHC Reifelden (who won 10-5).

The Catalonian Championship was staged in February 1961 at the Pista del Santuario del Nuria in Nuria. Club Alpino Nuria won the championship.
