The 1948-49 Intermediate Trophy was won by the Wembley Terriers.

It was reported that eight clubs had entered a "new ice hockey knock-out competition for intermediate and junior players. First round draw: Streatham Royals - Sussex, RAF - Wanderers, Oxford University - Marlboroughs, Wembley - Cambridge University."[1]
Several results were subsequently reported:
- 1/25: Sussex Tigers - Streatham Royals 3:3
- 1/25: RAF - Oxford University 5:0
Semifinals
Wembley Terriers, Royal Air Force, Streatham Royals, and Sussex participated. Wembley and RAF advanced to the finals.
Final
The final was staged on April 7, 1949, in Wembley.
