Chicago, Illinois

The North Shore Hockey League was contested this winter, and featured four teams: Highland Park, Evanston, Lake Forest, Winnetka. Highland Park was noted to have won the championship cup in 1904. Other active teams included the Kenwood Country Club, Prairie Avenue Hockey Club, Calumet Lacrosse Club, and the Chicago College of Dental Surgery.

The Detroit Hockey Club

The Portage Lakes Hockey Club, Calumet Miners, and Michigan Soo Indians joined the International Professional Hockey League, which also featured the Canadian Soo and the Pittsburgh Pros.

The Detroit Hockey League was formed, and consisted of four teams: the Rangers, Barstows, Morrels, and Stanton Boulevards. The Drtroit Hockey Club and Windsor were also candidates to compete, but did not.

Ann Arbor replaced Eastern High in the league.

The Hancock High School won the local Amphidrome Cup and were crowned state champions of Michigan. A team had to win the Amphidrome Cup three years in a row to earn it permanently, and as Hancock had already won it two years in a row, they gained permanent possession of it by meeting and beating Houghton, "after defeating all the other teams in the Copper Country".

Minnesota

The Twin City Hockey League consisted of three teams this winter: the Gotzian Victorias, Virginias, and the Amateur Athletic Association. The Victorias won the Dunbar Cup for the third year in a row. They also defeated Two Harbors in a three game series for the Minnesota State Championship.

The Minneapolis Hockey League made its debut this winter. Five teams participated in the league, which was won by the Minneapolis Centrals.

The American Amateur Hockey League was again contested in New York City. Hockey was popular in Buffalo this winter, and the Buffalo Lacrosse and Hockey Club played numerous games against teams from the surrounding areas.

The New York Intermediate Hockey League was organized at the Clermont Avenue Rink in Brooklyn. The Ramblers Hockey Team, New York Wanderers Juniors, Brooklyn Tavelin Club, St. Francis Xavier College, Brooklyn YMCA, New York Hockey Club II, and the Shawnee Hockey Club were members of the league.

Hannah blasted Park River in a game on January 4. The Emerson, Manitoba Hockey Club won a one-sided game from Grand Forks on the 27th. Grand Forks edged the University of North Dakota on February 2. Hannah was noted to have faced the Pliot Mound, Manitoba team during the season.

Ohio

The Franklin Athletic Club of Cleveland formed a hockey team, and hoped to arrange games against various in and out-of-town teams, including the Duquesne Athletic Club of Pittsburgh. The Landon Athletic Club planned to play three games with the Pittsburgh Irvings and one or two with the Detroit Hockey Club. Landon claimed the Cleveland City Championship, and twice defeated the Marine Athletic Club of Canton. The Amazon Canoe Club was active in Cincinnati this winter. They were said to have beaten "some good Chicago teams" on the road in 1901 and 1902.
