Avantes Athens is an ice hockey team situated in Athens, Greece. The club was founded in 1984 by Nikos Polichronidis and was initially based in Chalkis.
The team remained in Chalkis until 1993, when the sole rink in the city closed. Efforts to maintain the club were a challenge without an ice rink and support from the Greek Federation.
The club's oldest member, Yiannis Ioannou, disbanded the club and moved it to Athens in 2003.
Avantes last played in the Greek Championship in 2012-13. They finished third in the Southern Group.
