Teams picked 10 players of which seven could dress for any one game. There were up to 20 teams playing in groups in a round robin format, with 30 minute games and the group leaders going forward to knock out semi-finals and a one-off final. The Stein Lager Trophy was a British home tournament played in Blackpool over a summer weekend.
