The 1936–37 1re série season was the 21st season of the 1re série, the top level of ice hockey in France. The final was not contested and no champion was declared.

Paris Championship

  • Francais Volants 3 - Chamonix HC 2*

(*There were many delays in deciding the formula of the championship. There was originally going to be a separate Paris Championship with the winner advancing to play Chamonix in the final. However, it was later decided to place Chamonix in the preliminary group with the Paris teams.

The Chamonix officials were informed of this decision at the last minute and the club already had a match scheduled for January 23rd against the Swiss squad, Champery. Most of the players returned to Paris to compete in the national championship, leaving the reserve players to compete against Champery. The Swiss side won 4-1.

Chamonix's captain, Albert Hassler, explained in L'Auto, the players' reasoning to leave for Paris. He stated that while the federation had erred in its setup of the competition, the Chamonix players still wished to compete in the national championship. He also added that the Chamonix leaders had been mistaken in arranging the international match without the federation's permission.

A complaint was then made by the club leaders that the players had represented the club without permission. The next day Hassler requested the match be excluded from the official results. Chamonix then went home and it was agreed they would play in the final against the champion of Paris, as originally intended. The Volants-Chamonix game was omitted from the standings.)

Scores: Volants 1 - Diables 0, Rapides 3 - CSH 0, Volants 2 - Rapides 1, Volants 10 - CSH 0, CSH 2 - Diables 2, Rapides 5 - Diables 4.
