In the end, only eight teams competed as Stal Mielec withdrew and Stal Stalowa Wola was removed as they did not pay their entry fee to the PZHL. Later, Gornik Gorlice was also not included.
Due to weather conditions, the season was not completed, and Resovia (the Group II champion) was deemed the best team and selected to represent the district in the promotion round to the Polish 2. Liga

Stal Stalowa Wola withdrew, in protest of having been placed in Klase B.
Final standings (Klase A): 1. Sanoczanka Sanok, 2/3. Resovia, 2/3. Stal Rzeszów, 4. Legia Krosno. Some games were not completed, and it was planned to play them at the start of the 1959-60 season, but this did not materialize.
Sanok declined to participate in the promotion round to the Polish 2. Liga. In Klase B, JKS Jaroslaw was promoted, finishing ahead of Przysieki and Krosno.
