The Magyar Amatőr Jégkorong Bajnokság was founded in 2012 by the merger of the Magyar Amatõr Jégkorong Liga (MAJL) and the Nemzeti Amatőr Jégkorong Bajnokság (NAJB).[1]

In May 2013, the league was disbanded and its teams were incorporated into newly-created third and fourth-level competitions sanctioned by the Hungarian Ice Hockey Federation, the OB III. bajnokság and the OB IV. bajnokság.[2]
