The Amarillo Wranglers were formed in 1959 and fell to the Oklahoma City Warriors 5-3 in their first game on February 14, 1959. The team was known simply as Amarillo until February 28. They played at the Amarillo Ice Arena in Amarillo, Texas, folding after the 1960-61 season.
