1954–55 East German Liga season

The 1954-55 East German Liga season was the third season of the second-level competition in East Germany. 10 teams, divided into two groups, participated in the league. As the DDR-Oberliga was reduced from seven teams to four for 1955-56, no teams were promoted from the Liga. In addition the bottom three teams from each Liga group were relegated to the new East German 2. Liga for next season.

BSG Motor Zwickau withdrew after four games and thus finished last by default. All games to be played against Rostock were cancelled, since the local skating rink was not ready in time.
